Anyone familiar with UAE business license laws and regs?
My company has an office at Dubai Airport Freezone. I have recently been appointed to open a new office in Abu Dhabi. From the information I have gotten so far, it seems clear that I need a local partner to register the company. However, my boss is pressuring me to start making sales and claims we can operate under our Dubai license….. Is this legal? What are laws regarding licensing and more importantly: what are the penalties for me or the company for possible breaking these laws. appreciate any input.

It would b useful you drop by Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce for a clearcut position and best advice…
As a Dxb freezone it is not legal to have operations outside obviously. You cant have a branch operating outside the freezone. You might either need to set up a different Co locally sponsored in AUH or incorporate one in Dxb with a branch in AUH…which takes longer n more complicated.
You might end up losing your licence or high penalties if you listen to your boss right away…
